He had to admit when Zizhen put it that way, it did seem a lot more far fetched. Why had he believed the story? "So either they met some really lame way and Yuan is wanting to suck up and backed Ling's stupid story, which is sort of cute or Ling's really hurt and hiding it or there's something more devious going on. I mean, it is a Jin we're talking about. Although I didn't really think Jin Ling was like that."
Exaggerating a night hunt, sure, that didn't really count in Jingyi's book as 'lying'. It was just what some cultivators did, especially competitive ones like Ling. It was all good fun and even if Jingyi didn't do it (he's still a Lan after all) he didn't condemn his friend who got carried away. The bear story was getting carried away.
