Unfortunately as the bandages get peeled back, Zizhen gets to see the source of Jin Ling's condition. He has catharized puncture wound with surrounding burn tissue that keeps getting infected. As Liling applies the salve, Jin Ling howls with pain. Of course, he doesn't have much in the way of strength, so it isn't that hard- especially with even a little spiritual energy- to hold him down.
Sadly, by the end, he's gone unconscious again.

Lan Zhan melts over the kiss he's given and gets teary again watching how sweet his husband is with his son. He's never been so happy! So little of it shows on his face, but Sizhui was learning the cues. Not much had to.
"You look handsome," he replies. He gestures to the qin and tells him to play, knowing Wuxian can sleep through anything. He gets himself ready now that his son is perfect, not having down anything but the bare minimum before. As he's finishing the last of his braids, the other two members of their family arrive, though they don't enter. They both know how late Wuxian sleeps in.
