Yuan is just sitting up and inspecting his surroundings properly when there's a knock on the door and he looks over to see Liling peering in. He smiles softly in greeting, and when she comes inside he nods.
"Oh, that's very kind of him. Yes, I can manage a visitor, thank you."
In truth he's feeling much better after his long sleep and now that he's on solid land again, but what he does feel is guilty for having slept so long and apparently entirely missing their arrival, leaving Jin Ling to do it all himself - but he doesn't want to just spring out of bed and declare himself well again, because that might make things look even worse. If he allows this visit, takes a little time to recover, it makes it more obvious that he was ill, which he thinks will hopefully save Jin Ling some face.
It doesn't make him feel any less guilty, but it's something he can do to try and make up for his mistake.
