"I had a roof over my head and food in my stomach. There are worse things." Yuan says pragmatically - he didn't always believe that. Sometimes when he had his worse clients (like Xiaowen), he wondered if maybe it would be better to still be on the streets, but there was something to be said for knowing when his next meal was coming from.
"There are better things, too, and you deserve them all," Zizhen says firmly "Jingyi's right. You didn't deserve that. I'm glad your fathers have found you and you get to stay here now, you're going to love it."
Yuan smiles gratefully at both of them.
